Welcome to the Wag-Aero Sportsman 2+2 Builder and Owner's Forum.

This forum was put together in hopes of creating a single site where builders, prospective builders, and owners can come to share knowledge, ask questions, and get reliable support for the Sportsman 2+2. The reasoning behind it is simple enough to understand if you, like me, have spent numerous hours searching the internet for information on the Sportsman 2+2. In the process of searching, I have run across one very well put together blog by a gentleman named Marty Feehan (whom I hope to be able to convince to come onboard to share his experience and moderate), and then a lot of scattered information. The real kicker though was a in early November of 2014, when I placed a phone call to Wag-Aero in hopes of having a very simple question answered. The reply was that the fellow who probably knew the answer to my question had recently retired and maybe the production floor supervisor would have an answer... but he wasn't available by phone, only email. Well, he didn't know the answer to my question and told me that he might have to try to contact the retired gentleman.. but that would probably take some time, please be patient. See where that was going?

I personally feel that the design holds some great potential for those who want an economical, 4 place aircraft that holds great potential for fun, whether it be simple cross-country flying, floatplane flying, or putting some larger tires on it and operating it in the "bush". For all practical purposes, the design is a "knock-off" of the Piper PA-14 Family Cruiser that saw a very short production run, but still proves itself popular among the back-country pilots. The 2+2 has a few changes, but for all practical purposes it is the same airplane.. you can even use some of the Piper parts if you like!

So without further elaboration, I present to you this forum to use, and hopefully contribute to. I have had my plans for the last couple of years, and am now just getting started on the build. I kinda put the cart before the horse, in a way, because I picked up the engine this past summer from a airport neighbor at a price that was too low to pass up. But I am still working on the completion of a Steen Skybolt, so my progress will be very slow at first. Please be patient with my participation. The forum will require that you register as a user to post, and is pretty much the only way that I can ensure that the "spam-bots" don't make a mess of it. None of your information will be sold, given away or otherwise used in any manner not related to the foum.   CLICK HERE TO ENTER
